Jean-Fran├žois Pinton

Jean-FranÇois Pinton obtained his Ph.D. degree in physics in 1992. He also was granted the habilitation for his contributions to the study of turbulence. From 2003 to 2006, he was the Head of Physics Hiring Committe. He was also the Head of NonLinear and statistical Phsyics Graduate School (2000–2005). He is a Director of Research at the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and is currently the Head of the Laboratoire de Physique, École Nomale Supérieure de Lyon. His scientific research interests are centered around nonlinear and statistical physics; he worked in fluid mechanics, acoustics, turbulence, magnetohydrodynamics, and the dynamo effect.
