Osamu Komiyama received the D.D.S.c degree from the Nihon University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1989 and served as an Instructor at the Department of Complete Denture Prosthodontics. After that, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in dental science from the Nihon University in 1998. He served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Comprehensive Clinical Dentistry, School of Dentistry at Matsudo, Nihon University in 2002 and was a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Leuven from 2003 to 2005. Komiyama is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Oral Function and Rehabilitation, Nihon University. His research interests include the development of new functional evaluation method for implant prosthesis, clinical neurophysiological evaluation of implant treatment outcome, and experimental characterization of biomaterials and dental materials.
