Jiri Nedoma is a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Computational Methods, Institute of Computer Science of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, Czech Republic. Since 1993, Nedoma has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of West Bohemia, Pilsen (emeritus). In 1991, he received the C.S. (Ph.D.) degree from the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with the subject of the research being mathematical modeling in applied geodynamics, geomechanics, geophysics, biomechanics, numerical and computational methods for their solutions, linear and nonlinear boundary value problems for partial differential equations, and methods of their numerical solutions, contact problems, and variational inequalities.
