Zhao-Yan Li was born in Hebei, China, on August 13, 1982. She received her B.S. degree from the Department of Information Engineering at North China, University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, Zhengzhou, China, in 2005, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at the Department of Mathematics, Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2007 and 2010, respectively. She is currently a Research Associate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Virginia. She joined the Department of Mathematics at Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in February 2011, where she is now a lecturer. Her research interest includes stochastic differential equations, functional differential equations, numerical linear algebra, and their applications in control systems theory. She has published about 20 archival journal papers within these fields. She is a very active reviewer for a couple of international journals such as Applied Mathematics and Computation, Computers and Mathematics with Applications, International Journal of Systems Science, International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, and Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications.
