Hiroshi Onishi is an Associate Professor of medicine at the University of Yamanashi, Kofu-shi, Japan, and Chief of Radiation Oncology. He received his medical degree from the Chiba University, Chiba, Japan, and completed his residency at the University of Yamanashi. Dr. Onishi is one of the leading research experts in the area of stereotactic body radiotherapy, in particular for the lung cancer. He developed a respiratory monitoring device, named “Abches,” that simply and easily achieves good reproducibility of voluntary patient breath holding and is used in more than 100 radiotherapy facilities.
