Stephen Safe, D.Phil., is a Faculty Member at the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. In addition, he is Director of the Center for Environmental and Genetic Medicine at the Institute for Biosciences and Technology in Houston, which is part of the Texas A&M Health Science Center. His research interests include (i) development of mechanism-based anticancer drugs, (ii) molecular biology of steroid hormone action, and (iii) the mechanisms of action and toxicology of endocrine disruptors. He is active in graduate research and teaching and is cross-appointed in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics and the Interdisciplinary Faculties of Toxicology, Genetics and Reproductive Biology.
