Leondios G. Kostrikis
Leondios G. Kostrikis received his B.S. degree in biochemistry in 1987 as a Fulbright scholar and his Ph.D. degree in architectural studies of inoviruses in 1993 from New York University, USA. This was followed by postdoctoral research at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center of Rockefeller University, New York, NY, USA, on the molecular virology of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). He was the recipient of fellowships from the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Aaron Diamond Foundation. He joined the Faculty of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center as a Staff Investigator in 1998 and the Rockefeller University as an Assistant Professor in 1999. He serves currently as a Tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences at University of Cyprus as the Head of the Molecular Virology Laboratory.
