Neil John McHugh is a Professor McHugh graduated in Medicine from Otago University, New Zealand in 1978, undertook a research fellowship at Walter and Eliza Hall, Melbourne in 1985, and further postgraduate training in rheumatology as a Registrar at the RNHRD in Bath until 1990. Following a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Yale University in 1991, he was appointed as a Consultant Rheumatologist in Bath in 1992. He works as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Bath. His current fields of interest are psoriatic arthritis (treatment guidelines, outcome measures, genetics, clinical trials), and autoimmune mechanisms in connective tissue disease (genetics, autoantibodies, proteomics, clinical trials).
