Xiao Hui Wang
Xiao Hui Wang’s early educational background and experience was in medicine, with a focus on cancer management and research. Subsequently, she obtained a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience and more recently an M.S. degree in information science for work related to medical decision making and computer modeling. Xiao Hui Wang’s recent research has included 1) automated measurement of breast density; 2) utilization of mammographic complexity for improving risk assessment; 3) use of Bayesian networks to estimate breast cancer risks; 4) comparisons of image acquisition and display methods in screening environments, using ROC methodology; 5) computer-aided diagnosis of breast and lung cancer; 6) stereo display development for lung cancer screening; 7) use of computer simulation to assess limitations of ROC methodology. In addition, she has previously been a Principal Investigator on grants from NIH, Department of Defense, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
