Ali Riza Ercocen

Dr.Ali Riza Erçöçen graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1992, completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery trainning at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1998, and appointed as assistant professor at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Cumhuriyet University faculty of medicine from 1998 to 2004. In April 2004, Dr.Erçöçen became associate professor. He is the chief of the department since 1998, and a full-time professor of plastic surgery since 2009. Between 2000 and 2002, Dr.Erçöçen paticipated in a study program as clinical and research fellow at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Tokyo Women’s Medical University under Professor Motohiro Nozaki as a Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) International Scholar. Between September 2003 and February 2004, Dr. Erçöçen received a International Visiting Plastic Surgeon Scholarship from American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF), and he visited the Division of Plastic Surgery at University of Suthern California under Professor Randy Sherman, the Division of Plastic Surgery at Los Angeles Children Hospital under Assoc. Professor John Reinisch, and the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto under Professor Ronald Zuker, respectively. Dr. Erçöçen is a associate member of Turkish Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Interplast Turkey, Turkish Medical Association, and international member of American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association. His clinical and research interests are laser surgery and medicine, flap pathophysiolgy, flap prefabrication, tissue engineering, reconstructive microsurgery and hand surgery, and craniofacial surgery. Dr. Erçöçen is married and speaks English and Japanese.
