Zekeriya Altaç is a Professor at Mechanical Engineering Department, School of Engineering and Architecture, at Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Eskisehir, Turkey. He is a graduate of Istanbul Technical University and he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in nuclear engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, USA. His area of expertise is the computational methods in engineering, especially nuclear reactor physics, thermal radiation, forced/free convection heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. He has developed a semianalytical method, the Synthetic Kernel Method, to solve the radiative transfer equation for the absorbing, emitting, and scattering medium. He has recently been selected for the Technical Advisory Committee of the Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics at Brussels, Belgium. He is also an Advisory Board Member of the Journal of Thermal Science and Technology, Ankara, Turkey. Professor Altac received numerous awards for his research in the past decade. Presently, he is the Vice President of Eskisehir Osmangazi University. His works have been published in numerous international journals and conference proceedings.
