Minghe Sun works as a Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio, TX, USA. Sun received his B.S. degree in metallurgy from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 1982; his M.B. degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 1987; and his Ph.D. degree in management science and information technology from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA, USA, in 1992. His research interests are in mathematical programming and related areas. Specifically, his research has included the following topics: multiple objective programming, integer programming, network flow problems, facility location problems, data structures with composite keys, mathematical programming approaches for classification, and heuristic solution procedures for hard optimization problems. His work has appeared in almost all major journals in the management science/operations research/decision sciences areas including management science, operations research, decision sciences, and transportation science: INFORMS Journal on Computing, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Heuristics, Annals of Operations Research, Networks, Computers & Operations Research, and International Journal of Information Technology and Decision Making. Dr. Sun received the prestigious Decision Sciences Institute Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Competition Award in 1993 and the Decision Sciences Institute Best Theoretical/Empirical Research Paper Award twice, once in 2003 and once in 2006. He also received the University of Texas System Chancellor’s Council Outstanding Teaching Award in 1999.
