Harold R. Roberts
Harold R. Roberts, MD, is currently serving as a Sarah Graham Kenan Professor of Medicine and Pathology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Doctor Roberts is affiliated with the American Society of Clinical Investigation, American Association of Physicians, American Society of Experimental Biology and Medicine, the Council on Arteriosclerosis, the American Society of Hematology, the International Society of Hematology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He has been a Director of the Scientific and Standardization Committee and Executive Director of the International Society for Thrombosis and Hemostasis. He is a past member of the American Society of Hematology’s Advisory Committee and the Board of External Advisors for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Advisory Council of the National Institute of Health. He currently sits on the editorial boards of Current Opinion in Hematology and Hematologic Pathology, and is the senior associate editor of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. He has over 300 publications in refereed journals and medical textbooks. Doctor Roberts obtained both his BS and MD degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. He received a fellowship in Pathology from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, in Hematology from Vanderbilt University Hospital, and in Neurology from North Carolina Memorial Hospital.
