Po-Da Hong was born in 1961 in Taiwan and received both his M.A. and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Organic and Polymeric Materials from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1989 and 1992, Japan. He was promoted to the post of a Full Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2000 and serves currently as the Chairman of Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Staring in the study on polymer structure and physical properties, his research interests have focused on the mechanism of structural evolution for polymer physical gels and polymer mixtures from time-resolved scattering and spectroscopic analyses. His group is also making the efforts to study the applications of polymer gels to biomedical materials through the cooperation with medical center.
