Marie Christine Béné

After training as a pharmacist in the University of Nancy, Lorraine, France, Marie Christine Béné obtained two Ph.D. degrees as Pharm.D. and in Human Biology. She has been a Professor of immunology at the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Nancy since 1993, where she codirects the immunology laboratory. Since the discovery of monoclonal antibodies, she has been deeply involved in flow cytometry and immunophenotyping, in various immunological diseases and mostly in oncohematology (leukemia, lymphoma). As of September 2012, she is Head of the Hematology Laboratory in Nantes. Béné coordinates biological studies for several French clinical groups, setting up trials in leukemia or lymphoma. She has been Head of WP 10 (Diagnosis) for the European LeukemiaNet, now the European LeukemiaNet Foundation.
