Yon Rojanasakul

Yon Rojanasakul works as a Professor and as a Vice Chair at the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences at the West Virginia University. He received his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, in 1989. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the recipient of several research achievement awards including the Benedum Distinguished Scholar Award and Robert C. Byrd Distinguished Professor Award. He established an internationally recognized research program in free-radical biology and pulmonary toxicology. His research focus is on cell death and survival mechanisms in lung cancer and fibroproliferative disorders. His research interests also include nanotoxicology and drug delivery.
