Maslina Darus is currently a Full Professor at School of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia. She also holds a position as the Chair of the School of Mathematical Sciences. She obtained her first degree, the M.S.. degree, in math at Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1992 and obtained her Ph.D. degree (math) at University of Wales, Swansea, UK in 1996 under the supervision of Dr. D. K. Thomas. The thesis was entitled "Extreme problems for certain classes of analytic functions." She is actively supervising postgraduate students in the area of geometric function theory and currently has graduated 10 Ph.D. degree students and more than 20 M.S. degree students. Still there are 13 Ph.D. degree students of ongoing status. All the students came from various countries such as from Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Libya, Yemen, and Indonesia. She has also collaborated with many scientists all over the world, namely, from Japan, Romania, Turkey, China, India, Nigeria, Sudan, and many others. She is also a member of editorial board for some mathematical journals. She has held a post as Honorary Secretary of Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society since 1997.
