Andrew Neil Chalmers

Andrew Neil Chalmers obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Natal in 1987 for a thesis that investigated the effects of different light sources on colour reproduction in television scenes. In 1994, he took up the position of a Senior Lecturer of research development at the Manukau Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand—a position he still holds. His main research focus there has been in imaging systems and machine vision, with a special interest in colour image processing. Presently, he is part of a research group at Manukau, investigating the design of the optimum light source.
