Adela G. De La Campa

Adela G. De La Campa was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1959. She worked at Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC), Madrid, (1981–1985), at the Department of Molecular Biology, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK (June 1983–August 1985) and received the Biology degree, the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, in 1981 and 1985, respectively. Her postdoctoral period included a stay at the Biology Department of the Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York, NY, USA (January 1986–October 1987) and at Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas (CSIC), Madrid, Spain (November 1987–February 1990). Since March 1990, she has been a Staff Member from the CSIC at Centro Nacional de Microbiología, Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Majadahonda, Madrid, Spain. Her research interests are bacterial genetics, relation between DNA supercoiling and transcription, and molecular basis of antimicrobial action.
