Maryam Tabrizian
McGill University, Canada
Maryam Tabrizian received her Ph.D. degree from Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, in 1990. She joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering, McGill University, in 2000, where she is currently an Associate Professor. Tabrizian is an FRSQ-National Researcher Awardee and the Director of the Centre for Biorecognition and Biosensors (CBB). Her research focus is on the development of engineered surfaces through physical, chemical, and biological modifications and also via the use of advanced nanofabrication technologies. She has an established expertise in surface molecular engineering and interface design either to promote cell-substrate interaction or to study protein-substrate interactions for biosensing. She is internationally known for her work in the functional biointerface and published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers, many book chapters, patents, and more than 170 communications (40 invited lectures) in this research field.
