Marzia Caproni

Marzia Caproni graduated with first class honors in medicine at the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1985. She got her specialty in Dermatovenereology in 1988 and in immunology and allergology in 2004. Moreover, she get her Ph.D. degree in experimental dermatology in 1998. She is currently leading the research group for cutaneous immunopathology and rare diseases at the University of Florence. Her major interests are autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases, including dermatitis herpetiformis. Author of more than 150 papers published in international journals, and of more than 20 books and books chapters in the field of dermatology - Participation as a speaker and chair to several national and international congresses - Participation in several research projects funded by Italian Institutions, including PRIN 2003 and PRIN 2008 projects funded by Ministry of University and Research, Ricerca Finalizzata 1999 funded by the Ministry of Health Awards and Honors: - 2005-2011: President of the Italian Group for cutaneous immunopathology - 1993: Poster Award at the XIV Italian Congress of Psychosomatic Medicine - 1997: Research Award of the Italian Society of Dermatology for the project "Soluble CD30 and Cyclosporine in Severe Atopic Dermatitis" - 1997: Poster Award at the European Academy of Dermatology Congress - 2001: Research Award of the Association for Psoriasis Investigation - 2003: Research Award of the Italian Society of Allergological Dermatology - Travel Grants to participate to European Academy of Dermatology Congresses (1997 and 1998)
