Konstantinos Kantartzis
0000-0002-0584-1138Konstantinos Kantartzis received his M.S. and M.D. degrees in endocrinology and metabolism from the University of Athens, Greece. He serves as a Consultant in internal medicine and as a Senior Research Scientist of the Clinical Research Team at the Departments of Endocrinology, Diabetology, Nephrology, Vascular Medicine, and Clinical Chemistry and at the Paul-Langerhans Institute. He acts as a Member of the German Center for Diabetes Research at University of Tübingen, Germany, headed by Professor H.-U. Häring. His research interests include genetics and prevention of type 2 diabetes and the impact of adiposity and body fat distribution, in particular fat accumulation in the liver (fatty liver), on the production and action of adipokines and eventually on insulin sensitivity.
