Hendrikus H. Boersma

Hendrikus H. Boersma was born in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, in 1968. In 1988, he started his pharmacy studies at Groningen State University in Groningen, The Netherlands. He obtained his Pharm.D. degree in 1996. In 1998, he started his training in clinical pharmacy at the Maastricht University Hospital in Maastricht, The Netherlands. During his training, he started work as a radiopharmacist. He was licensed as a clinical pharmacist in 2000. Furthermore, he was certified as a clinical pharmacologist in 2003. From 2000 to 2007, he worked at the Maastricht University Hospital as a staff clinical pharmacist. From 1999 to 2005, he was performing research, leading to the Ph.D. thesis entitled “Annexin A5: pharmacology, radiopharmaceutical aspects and cell death imaging.” His thesis was successfully defended in 2006. In 2007, he started to work at the University Medical Center of Groningen. There, he was trained to become a qualified person. His current fields of interest are radiopharmacy (QA/QP/GMP-tasks) and cardiovascular imaging research. Furthermore, he is responsible for the maintenance of the electronic prescription system at the UMCG and a Member of the UMCG-Institutional Ethics Review Board. Being a member of the UMCG Cardiovascular Imaging Group, he is a supervisor of several Ph.D., Pharm.D., and M.D. students. He contributed as an author to around 40 scientific publications (citations (Scopus): > 900, h-index=9).
