CHAUVAT Franck Head of a laboratory focusing on the Biology and Biotechnology of Cyanobacteria, in CEA-Saclay France. E.mail Research interests 48 Publications ( I have worked with cyanobacteria for 30 years, focusing on the genetics and cell biology of these environmentally crucial organisms, which have the potentials for clean and sustainable productions of biotechnologically interesting products. We use a combination of "omics" techniques to analyze the physiology and metabolism of cyanobacteria, and their responses to environmental stresses (light, metals including nanoparticles, and oxidants). We also try to engineer cyanobacteria for the photoproduction of energy and therapeutics, as well as for bioindication and bioremediation purposes. Key words Cyanobacteria, Synechocystis, Synechococcus, cell metabolism, oxidative stress, cell division, heavy metals, nanoparticles, biofuels, transcriptome, proteome, interactome, metabolome, synthetic biology
