Bernardo Garicochea has two postdoctoral fellowships in molecular biology of leukemias from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London, UK and in medical genetics from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY, USA. Since 1997, he has been a Professor of internal medicine and the Director of the Oncology Department at Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He is also the Coordinator of the Genetic Counseling Unit of Sirio Libanes Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
