Ping Lin

Ping Lin received his Ph.D. in applied mathematics in 1995 from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He was then an NSERC postdoctoral fellow at Division of Mechanics and Computation (formally Division of Applied Mechanics), Stanford University, from 1996 to 1998, and also a Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in 1998. Since 2007, he has been a Full Professor (chair of numerical analysis) in University of Dundee, UK, and since 2008, he has been also a Full Professor in the National University of Singapore. The main emphasis of his research is in applied mathematics and in the areas of numerical analysis, scientific computing, computational fluid mechanics and physical sciences, analysis of atomistic-to-continuum models, and singular perturbation.
