Fotis Kanellos was born in 1975 in Agrinio, Greece. He obtained a Diploma of electric and computer engineer, an M.S. degree, and a Ph.D. degree in in 1998, 2001, and 2003, respectively, from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece. He works as a Lecturer in the Department of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete, Chania, Greece, teaching electric circuits, electronics, economic operation of electric power systems, and production and management of RES power. Kanellos has also worked for Hellenic Transmission System Operator and Public Power Company, Greece. He is the author of more than 60 scientific papers published in international and national journals and conferences. His research interests include automatic control of wind turbines, wind turbines autonomous operation and ancillary services to the network, modeling of electrical networks with dispersed generation, design and development of power systems with high RES penetration, optimal operation and modeling of all-electric ship, application of system identification methods to wind turbine systems, and electrical networks with high RES penetration.
