Ying-Chu Lin received the Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, National Cheng-Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 2002. In 2002, he held the position of Postdoc of the Department of Environmental and Medical Science in the same University till the end of that year. In 2003, Lin was an Assistant Professor of the School of Dentistry, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan. Presently, he is an associate professor. He is mainly interested in the application of molecular epidemiology to determine risk factors of allergy, especially in asthma, periodontitis, and oral cancer. Lin devoted great efforts to integrate the genetic susceptibility with the high throughput data explaining the possible mechanisms for disease development and prognosis, especially in asthma, periodontitis, and oral cancer.
