John Mohr received his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, in 1994 and obtained his D.pharm. degree from the University of Houston, Houston, TX, USA, in 1998. After completing a pharmacy practice residency as well as an infectious diseases specialty residency from Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, he served as the clinical pharmacist for infectious diseases at this University Hospital until January 2003. Dr. Mohr was an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston, College of Medicine, Houston, TX, USA, until October 2007 where his research activities involved antibiotic utilization, antimicrobial resistance, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modelling of antibiotics and how they relate to clinical outcomes. He has authored numerous original research manuscripts, review articles, position papers, and book chapters in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy. John is active in many pharmacy and ID professional organizations and societies and has served as a Board Member for the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists. Dr. Mohr’s current job is Director of Global Medical Affairs with Cubist Pharmaceuticals where he is involved with the ceftolozane/tazobactam program.
