Yong Yang works as a Professor at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China. He received B.Eng. and M. Eng. degrees from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanxi University of Science and Technology, Shanxi, China. He also received a D. Eng. degree from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He worked as JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Project Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan. At present, he has been officially appointed as a Professor at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main interested research areas are focused on the preparation and self-assembly of metal nanomaterials, catalytic properties, and optical properties such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR) for potential applications, SPR sensors, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), nonlinear optical properties, and surface modification of materials and optical film. He was the author of more than 70 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
