Barbara Czarnocka received a Ph.D. degree in 1982 from Warsaw Medical University. From 1984 to 1988, and in 1991, she was a Research Associate at the Faculty of Biochemistry, University of Marseilles, France. She is currently a Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Medical Center of Postgraduate Education in Warsaw and the Head of this Department. Her current research interest includes autoimmune diseases of the endocrine glands, Addison’s disease and secondary adrenal insufficiency, thyroid autoimmunity, thyroid peroxidase (TPO) immunological structure, TSH receptor and G proteins in pathophysiology, and differentiated thyroid cancer biology and dissemination. Dr. Czarnocka is a member of the Editorial Board of the Polish Journal of Endocrinology and the Thyroid Research, Fellow of the Polish Society of Endocrinology, the Polish Thyroid Society, Polish Society of Biochemistry, the European Thyroid Association, and the European Endocrine Society.
