Miao Du was born in China (1976). He received his B.S. degree from Nankai University, Tianjin, China (1998), and subsequently his Doctoral degree there (2003) under the supervision of Professor Xian-He Bu. Then, he joined the faculty at Tianjin Normal University where he is now a Full Professor of chemistry. He has worked with Professor Thomas C. W. Mak at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Dr. Qiang Xu at the Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology of Japan (JSPS fellowship). His current research lies in crystal engineering of organic solids and coordination polymers, with over 200 papers and 5800 total citations (h-index = 42). He is a Member of the Advisory Board of CrystEngComm (RSC) and serves as the Vice President of Tianjin X-Ray Analysis Society.
