Iris Zalaudek was born in Graz, Austria, in 1969. She received the board certificate for dermatology from the Medical University of Graz, Austria, in 2001. From 2004 to 2005, she was a Research Fellow at the Department of Dermatology, Second University of Naples. Since 2008, she has been a Professor at the Department of Dermatology, Medical University of Graz. Currently, she is a Senior Research Fellow of The Austrian Science Fund in the second year of her 3-year term. Her main research fields are dermoscopy and dermato-oncology. She is an active Board Member and Moderator of the International Dermoscopy Society (IDS) and a Tutor of two university Diplomas/degrees in Austria and Australia. She has authored more than 90 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and has been an invited speaker to more than 100 international conferences and courses. She was awarded the Hans Weitgasser Price for 2003—an award given annually to a styrian scientist who has made contributions to important work in the field of dermatology.
