Jan Andres is presently employed as a Full Professor at the Palacký University of Olomouc, Czech Republic. He serves there as a Chairman of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Applications of Mathematics. He acted also as a Visiting Professor at two American and many European Universities, especially at the University of Paris 1, Sorbonne, France, and the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He received the highest scientific degrees in the Czech Republic (D.S. degree) and in Poland (Dr. Hab.). He serves as a Member of 15 editorial boards of the international scientific journals. He is also a coauthor (jointly with Lech Gorniewicz) of a monograph published in 2003 at Kluwer (its second edition was published in 2012 by Springer jointly with World Publishing Corporation, Beijing). His main research activities concern topological methods in nonlinear analysis, differential equations and inclusions, multivalued dynamical systems, and fractals and their application to quantitative linguistics.
