He is currently appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Saha was awarded his Ph.D. degree in advanced materials and mechanics from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 2005. His research career spans more than 15 years, including an NSERC Industrial R&D Fellowship at Hyperion Technologies Inc. and Killam Memorial Fellowship at Dalhousie University. Saha has held an Assistant Professor position at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax as well as taught numerous courses at university level in Canada as well as in The Netherlands. Saha’s primary research interests are in composite materials and structures, nanostructured ceramic-metallic materials, microstructure-process-property relationships in engineering materials, micromechanical modeling, nanosurface, and interface engineering. He has authored more than 35 research papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Currently, he is cosupervising two Ph.D. researchers on a project focusing on the development of nanostructured wear-resistant coatings. Saha is serving as a New Standards Reviewer for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) on efforts for integration and preparation of national and international standards on nanotechnology and, among others, is a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Royal Dutch Institute of Engineers (KiVI).
