Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain

María Isabel Pividori was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1971. She holds the B.A. degree in biochemistry from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina. She received her Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, in 2002. She has large experience in bioanalytical chemistry and electrochemical biosensing, particularly in the design of DNA biosensors, immunosensors and immunoassays, magnetic separation, and bacteria detection, mainly for food safety. She is also interested in the oriented immobilization of biomolecules in sensor transducers and magnetic beads and nanoparticles. Currently, she takes part in Spanish and international research projects about the development of these bioanalytical systems using nanomaterials in nanobioelectrochemical designs. Pividori is now an Associated Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, University of Barcelona, Spain.
