Carmen Mannucci received a degree in biological sciences with specializations in microbiology and Ph.D. degree in experimental medicine and postdoctoral fellowship in experimental medicine. Since 2002, she develops her research activity at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Messina, Messina, Italy. Dr. Mannucci’s areas of expertise are pharmacology, pharmacology and toxicology of medicinal herbs, and pharmacovigilance. She worked as part of her training in the following research topics: the study of biomarkers of risk in smokers, pathophysiological mechanisms cerebral ischemia, and biochemical studies on marine organisms. She is a Member of the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF) and Italian Society of Toxicology (SITOX).
