Susan Kennerly holds a Ph.D. degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Austin, Tex, USA in 1988 and serves currently an Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing. She earned an M.S. degree in nursing with a major in adult health and minor in teaching in 1983 from the University of South Carolina at Columbia and an M.S. degree in education with a major in curriculum and instruction in 1980 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Kennerly has extensive experience in nursing education instruction and administration, program assessment and development, and grant management. She is an expert on nursing leadership and management and has extensive administrative experience as an Associate Dean for academic affairs, a Baccalaureate Program Director, and a Director of healthcare practice operations. She has published in the areas of curriculum implementation, leadership behaviors, shared governance, and nursing delegation and supervision. Her program of research deals with leadership behaviors, nursing culture, and role implementation of healthcare workers. Dr. Kennerly has served as a Consultant in team facilitation and the design, implementation, and evaluation of shared governance in acute care and mental health nursing practice settings.
