Janusz Pachucki

Janusz Pachucki was born in Gdansk, Poland, in 1965 but lived in Gdynia nearby Gdansk until 1990. He received primary and high school education in Gdynia. He received his Medical degree from AMG in Gdansk in 1989 and then finished internship followed by one-year residency in general surgery at Debinki University Hospital in Gdansk. In 1991, he moved to New York and worked initially at Spellman Center of St. Clare's Hospital. From 1992 to 1997, he completed medical residency at NYU (BCIM in 1995) followed by endocrine fellowship at UPMC (BCEM in 1997). From 1998 to 1999, he worked as a Research Fellow at Harvard Institute of Medicine. In 1999, he moved to Warsaw, Poland, and except for a research fellowship between 2002 and 2003 at IRBHN in Brussels, he has been working at Warsaw Medical School and the Department of Endocrinology of The Banacha University Hospital. He is currently a Consultant at The Banacha University Hospital. He practices endocrinology on both outpatient and inpatient bases and provides courses for medical students, medical and surgical residents, as well as endocrine fellows. His main current research activities run on basic thyroid pathophysiology and thyroid hormone effect in various medical conditions.
