Edward V. Prochownik holds both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. His current position is the Paul C. Gaffney Professor of pediatrics, a Professor of pediatrics, and a Professor of microbiology and molecular genetics at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Pittsburgh, Pa, USA. His areas of interest include the c-Myc oncoprotein: molecular mechanisms underlying transformation, genomic instability, and metabolic regulation; small molecule inhibitors of c-Myc as potential anticancer agents; and direct derivation of tumor-associated endothelium directly from tumor cells.
