Bert Zomer
Bert Zomer received his academic training at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1982 on a thesis entitled “Synthesis and applications of multi-13C-labelled steroid hormones.” After a short postdoctoral period at the University of Amsterdam, he joined the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) at Bilthoven, The Netherlands. Currently, he serves as a Senior Scientific Researcher at the Department of Vaccinology of RIVM. His main interest is in the development of analytical tools, both physical-chemical and immunological, to support the vaccinology research. He is a Member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the International Society of Chemiluminescence and Bioluminescence (ISBC, Counselor).
