Hongxia Luo was born in Henan, China, in 1966. She received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from Henan Normal University, Shanxi Normal University, Peking University, China in 1985, 1988, and 1999, respectively. From 1988 to 1996, Dr. Luo worked at the Chemistry Department of Henan Normal University, and she was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 1995. She was a postdoctoral fellow in Peking University from 1999 to 2001. In May 1st, she joined Professor Osamu ITO’s Lab in Tohohu University, Japan, and returned to China in 2003. Since 2004, she has been working at the Chemistry Department of Renmin University of China as an Associate Professor. From November 2005 till February 2006, she was a Visiting Scientist at Professor Liming Dai’s Lab in University of Dayton, Ohio, USA. She is mainly interested in the electrochemistry of carbon nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes and nanodiamonds. One of her research papers won the Thomson Reuters Research Fronts Award in 2008.
