Annika Ekestubbe graduated received her certificate as a Specialist in oral radiology in 1994, the Ph.D. degree in odontology in 1999, and the Docent (as an Associate professor) degree in 2005. Presently, she serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Institute of Odontology, The Sahlgrenska Academy, the University of Gothenburg. Since 2009, she works also as the Head of the Institute of Odontology in Gothenburg. Her main research interests include the evaluation of radiographic technologies from a radiation risk and clinical point of view (particularly CT and CBCT) and the use of radiographic techniques for evaluating clinical treatment modalities (notably implant rehabilitation). She serves as a National and International Lecturer and has (co)authored several publications in implant radiography.
