Julien Epps received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2001, and he works currently as a Senior Lecturer at UNSW with a joint appointment at National ICT Australia as a Senior Researcher. Previously, he worked with Motorola Laboratories as a Senior Research Engineer, with NICTA as a Senior Researcher and Project Leader, with UNSW Asia (Singapore) as an Assistant Professor, and with the Institute for Information Communication Research (Singapore) as a Visiting Scientist. He has authored or coauthored more than one hundred publications in journals and peer-reviewed conferences. He has served as a Reviewer for numerous journals, including IEEE Transactions Audio, Speech and Language Processing, and Speech Communications, and on the program committee or as a Reviewer for several conferences in speech and signal processing, including as an Area Chair for INTERSPEECH 2008.
