Salvatore Stramondo

Salvatore Stramondo was born in Minturno, Italy, in 1968. He received the laurea (M.S.) degree in electronic engineering in 1996 from Sapienza - Università di Roma, Rome, Italy, and the Ph.D. degree in geoinformation in 2007 from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Rome, Italy. He joined the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) in 1997 where he serves currently as Senior Researcher. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of remote sensing and cartography and topography at the University of Calabria, Rende, Italy. He served as an Invited Researcher at the CNR-IRECE (Neaples, Italy, 1997), IPGP (Paris, France, 1998), JPL (Pasadena, CA, 2000), and IIT (Bombay, India, 2001). His main research activities are in SAR interferometry techniques and geophysical applications. He is author of 30 international papers. He is actually coordinator of the TERRAFIRMA Tectonic Theme GSE project and Chair of the Satellite Information Data WG of EPOS European Project. Dr. Stramondo has been Chairman and Cochairman at several international conferences (IGARSS-International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, EGU-European Geophysical Union). Since 2009 Dr. Stramondo serves as an Editor of Remote Sensing Journal and Associate Editor of IEEE GRS Letters. Dr. Stramondo is a Referee for the following international reviews: Tectonophysics, Journal of Geophysical Research, Geophysical Research Letters, International Journal of Remote Sensing, IEEE Transactions on Geosciences and Remote Sensing, Geomorphology, Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing, Natural Hazards and Remote Sensing of Environment. He is Member of IEEE Geosciences and Remote Sensing Chapter, International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing – Commission VII - WG 6 - Remote Sensing Data Fusion and Associazione Italiana di Telerilevamento. Since 2011, he is in the Board of Directors of the Italian Association of Remote Sensing - Associazione Italiana di Telerilevamento.
