Eric Viscogliosi

Eric Viscogliosi was born in France in 1964 and serves as a Researcher at the CNRS. In 1992, he received the Ph.D. degree in biology from the University of Clermont-Ferrand and obtained the Research Direction Habilitation (HDR) in 1997. He works currently as the Head of the Research Team Biology and Diversity of Emerging Eukaryotic Pathogens (BDEEP) at the Institut Pasteur of Lille in the Center for Infection and Immunity of Lille (CIIL) and as a Member of the direction boards of CIIL and Institut Fédératif de Recherche (IFR). He serves also as a Reviewer for major journals in the fields of parasitology, microbiology, cell biology, and evolution. He assumes the positions of Visiting Professor and Visiting Scientist at the Laboratory of Microbiology of RIKEN, Japan. He (co)authored more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and several book chapters. His team has an internationally recognized expertise in biology and molecular diversity of protozoa (Blastocystis, Trichomonas, and Cryptosporidium) and fungi (Pneumocystis and micromycetes).
