Yeo J. Yoon

Yeo Joon Yoon has been a Professor of chemistry and nanoscience at Ewha Womans University, Republic of Korea, since 2004. He received his B.S. degree in 1992 and Ph.D. degree in 2000 from Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. During his Ph.D. studies, he studied the biosynthesis of rifamycin under the guidance of Professor C. Richard Hutchinson at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI, USA. As a postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Minnesota, MN, USA, with Professor David H. Sherman, Yoon worked on the pikromycin biosynthesis. His research interests are characterization of biosynthetic pathways for polyketides ̸ aminoglycosides and application of combinatorial biosynthesis ̸ synthetic biology to the production of secondary metabolites
