Brendan Chan is the Lead Engineer for vehicle simulation at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, LLC. He received his B.S.E.E. degree from Michigan Technological University and completed his Ph.D. degree in Virginia Polytecnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) from the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory. To date, Brendan Chan has authored numerous technical papers, reports, and presentations in topics related to advanced technologies for ground vehicles. He is an active Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE). Currently, he is an actively serving Member of the SAE Commercial Vehicle Chassis and Suspension Committee and also the SAE Commercial Vehicle Braking and Steering Committee. His research interests include advanced designs and concepts for vehicle suspensions, braking and steering systems, and active safety systems.
