Dzung V. Dao

Ritsumeikan University, Japan

Dzung V. Dao received the B.S. degree in informatics-mechanical engineering and the M.S. degree in machinery mechanics from the Hanoi University of Technology (HUT), Hanoi, Vietnam, in 1995 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in science and engineering from the Ritsumeikan University, Shiga, Japan, in 2003. He became a Lecturer with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, HUT, in 1995. He was a mechanical engineer with the Alcatel Telecom Company in Vietnam, from 1995 to 1999. In 1999, he joined the Ritsumeikan University, where he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Micro Nano Integrated Devices Laboratory from 2003 to 2006, was an Assistant Professor from 2006 to 2007, and is currently a Chair Professor with the Research Organization of Science and Engineering. His current research interests are physical and mechanical sensing effects in nanostructured materials (such as silicon nanowires, CNT, and photonic crystal nanocavity), silicon micromachined mechanical sensors, microactuators, optical MEMS, integrated MEMS, and polymer MEMS technology.
