Shervin Assari received his medical degree from Iran in 2002 and then an M.P.H. degree in health behavior and health education from the University of Michigan, Mich, USA, in 2011. For the last ten years, he has been involved in studies on health behaviors and psychological wellbeing of patients with different chronic conditions including chronic viral hepatitis. One of his studies has measured sexual behavior, anxiety and depression, quality of life, pain, sleep, and marital quality among more than 2,000 adults with different medical conditions. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in Pubmed indexed journals and 4 book chapters. He is currently a Member of the World Association of Medical Editors and serves as an Editor for Developing World Epidemiology. He is a Reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Health Behavior and Hepatitis Monthly.
